Meet Our New Membership Director!

LWV Comal Area is delighted to welcome Anne Gulick to the Board of Directors as our new Membership Director.  Some of you may have met Anne at a GOTV event or spoken to her as she dove in immediately to start calling members.

Describing her journey to the League Anne writes:  Originally from Aberdeen, Scotland I moved to Baltimore, MD in 1990 on a Fiancé visa to marry my husband Jonathan. In 1997 after living in Houston for several years, having two children, and being the only non American in the family I applied for my US citizenship.  We traveled overseas for several years with Jonathan’s job, first to Trinidad then to my hometown of Aberdeen returning to Katy in 2003 where we lived until moving to New Braunfels in 2019.

I joined the League in July 2021 after realizing how difficult it could be to get information about upcoming elections, particularly when they were “only” local and not necessarily getting much media coverage. Membership Director is a great place for me to become more involved as I am excited to share how LWV can help citizens become educated voters and hopefully encourage more folks to join our ranks. The importance of getting people out to vote is also one of my priorities and I believe we all need to encourage everyone in our community to take an active role in elections at local, state and national level.
