FROM THE PRESIDENT

To all our supporters who attended or donated to the April 2 Circle Arts Benefit Fundraiser: THANK YOU! Extra thanks to Jan Estes who coordinated the event and sold the most tickets. We raised more than in the past several pre-pandemic years and these funds will enable us to distribute more Voter Guides and information than ever for the fall 2022 midterm elections!  As the Comal Area grows, the demand for our guides and handouts increases. Your generosity helps us meet that demand, empower voters and defend democracy!

This spring has been a whirlwind of Get-Out-The-Vote activity as Voter Services volunteers collected information and reached out to candidates to create the online Voters Guide on VOTE411.org, recorded candidate forums, registered voters and distributed over 2500 nonpartisan election information flyers.  A special thanks to Milda Scott and VP for Voters Services Laraine Henchal for the hours they put in, and to our community partner the Bexar Area Alumni Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority for helping us expand our voter outreach.  Thank you to everyone who pitched in at events, submitted questions for candidates, dropped off flyers, shared our social media posts and helped us empower voters!

The entire Board of Directors is so excited about the planned in-person Annual Meeting May 11, and we hope to see you there!

 Jerrie Champlin
