LWV Comal Area's annual fundraiser at Circle Arts is coming soon! Great local theater for only $25 per ticket! For information on tickets, contact coordinator Bonnie Leitch (bkleitch@gmail.com) or one of your local LWV Comal board members.

Southern Fried Funeral is a popular Southern-style comedy play by J. Dietz Osborne and Nate Eppler about the Frye family, who gather for the funeral of patriarch Dewey Frye, only to find themselves dealing with family drama, secrets, and hilarious mishaps while trying to put on a respectable service.

Highlights in this issue:

March 3 Primaries and GOTV: The 2026 primaries are set for March 3, with early voting starting from February 17 through 27. The last day to register to vote for the March 3 primary is February 2.
We are assisting with second semester voter high school voter registration drives starting in January.
Check the calendar for our GOTV tables at area libraries, also starting in January.
LWCA Youth Voter Registration Grant Award: LWCA is excited to have received a $750 grant to assist with our youth voter registration activities. With the expanding university footprints and increased high school populations, this grant will assist with printing costs and other voter registration drive expenses.
Member Update Survey: We created a survey to update members' volunteer preferences and VDR certifications. Members should click on the survey link below and update their information. To encourage survey participation, I will donate some door prizes, with a drawing to be held at our next membership event.

Holiday Brunch 2025:

Members gather for 2025 Reflection

The LWVCA's most anticipated membership event each year is the holiday brunch. Hostess Fran Hargrove opened her home for a delightful brunch on December 13. She and the board members provided detectible goodies for everyone to share. The group reflected on some of the year's past successes and the upcoming fundraiser and voter services events. As a special treat, Past President Jerrie Champlin shared a tree of handmade earrings with the attendees.
